Rooster disappeared

This past Sunday my rooster disappeared, no feathers, no noise. He was up with the hens around the coop and house around 5:30- 6:30pm, went to close up coop at 8 like always, hens inside no Ollie (rooster). We looked with flashlights until 9, I went out next morning, in woods, in fields, looked near fox den- nothing.
Any ideas? He is nice rooster, very good with chicks and very beautiful.

He was snatched by something. You won't see him again. A roo is not going to leave his harem unprotected unless he is dead/gone. I would be looking at one of the larger predators- fox, coyote or bobcat- something that could grab him quickly, subdue him fast and leave without a trace.

I am sorry for your loss. He probably died protecting his girls, so it was a good death for him. Brave boy.

Carrie is probably right. I know that when my roosters are kept from their hens, they go crazy trying to get back to them. If he's not there, I'm afraid something got him.
