we have 5 hens and one rooster the all go in the coop at night by themselves but for some reason the rooster stays on the floor of the coop. Nothing seems wrong with him but I have noticed he doesn’t try to get to higher spots like the hens. Is this normal or is he maybe afraid of Heights. Anyone have any suggestions.

Mine does the same. I don't really know why. I like to think he's just being a gentleman and giving up his seat so the ladies can be comfortable lol

Maybe try ladders so he can climb up.
I put these in my coop for the chicks, they said they can fly and dont use them, but my old rooster does!

How old are your birds?
Is there plenty of roost length(1' per bird)?
Is roost easy to get up to and down from?
Pics would help.
