Rooster eater

We came home to a big pile of feathers from our rooster. No body, just a pile of feathers. Any thoughts on what might have done this?

What kinds of predators so you have around your place? A racoon got one of my roosters a couple years back and only left pile of feathers.

Welcome! So sorry for your loss.
So many predators come to mind, it's hard to say just who this one was. Keep your remaining flock in their safe coop and run while you sort this out. Whoever it was will return, maybe tomorrow, maybe in three or four days.
Set up a game camera if possible.

A fox comes to mind.

Yes. A fox is a predator that at least takes the chicken and eats it. A lot of others won't, snd you'd have to have a very large raptor to take away a rooster via air.

Raccoons are going to keep killing until there is nothing left to kill, then leave the bodies. Definitely one of the others if it was in the daylight.

Not always. When we had a raccoon problem last year, we would lose a bird or two a night, occasionally skipping a night. They also occasionally would carry their birds off a short distance, especially if they actually was able to get to the body
