Rooster feathers turning white on tail

My Buff Orpington rooster, Colonel Sanders, is about 10 months old. His tail is starting to come in beautifully. The last two weeks, his long, center tail feathers are turning white from the base up. It looks like Elsa cursed him. I like it, and think it looks cool, but what causes this? I hope it stays after he molts. Has anybody had this happen?

It also appears as if he is getting white in the feathers on his back. He may get more white as he matures.

Good call. They are his longest feathers. They very well could be growing like that. I guess I'll know, for sure, if the white runs towards the tips
