rooster found killed. warning graphic pics. help?

Your roo looks slobbery on it's feathers between the neck and wings. I'm guessing a dog played with it. They'll carry it around, pounce on it, etc.. This can cause internal injury with bleeding out the mouth. Since the dog is only playing, they don't eat the body.

Raptors (hawks, owls) don't leave their prey on the ground. They don't hunt when they (or their chicks) aren't hungry.

If it turns out to be a dog, remember the dog doesn't mean any harm, she just sees chickens as fun play toys. My neighbor's dog has gotten a few of my dumbest chickens that squeezed their way into his lawn. A couple have lived, a couple died. They get grabbed by the neck and shaken around. That dog is very nice and well trained so if I'm there to hop the fence he will give them back to me. If I'm not there he'll kill them though. The one time I was there but couldn't get there in time the bird looked sort of like yours.

I've also had a very sweet pit bull get into our lawn who chased every chicken but didn't bother to actually pick any up. She wasn't going to stop the chase for anything though; that was one happy dog. I don't know if there's a real way to deter that instinct, and not all dogs are nice and well- behaved, but please don't hurt a dog going after a chicken.

Most likely a large snake killed it. They constrict around the bird to kill it and then try to swallow it beginning at the head. When they are unable to get past the shoulders, they regurgitate it leaving a slime covering its head and neck. Two of mine were recently killed this way. Heartbreaking. I am very sorry for your loss.

Here in norway our snakes are on the small side, they wouldent even be able to swollow the foot of my small serama, its only the norwegian viper that can be dangerus here cus they have a venomes bite, but they cant get the chickens, they are only as thick as my finger and as long as 2-3 fingers . Thanks for the reply ☺
We got cats, weasel (i saw a cat kill a baby weasel) i also saw a badger 1km away from the house a while ago. 2 eagles but it seems that they dont care bout the chickens. Ive never seen a loose dog here nor anywhere, i got a dog but he is small and never go outside alone.
