Bought some chicks back in April, a couple turned out to be roos. Don't have enough hens to keep more than one, and the dominance battles are starting in earnest now.

He's about 20 weeks old, 10 lbs, barred rock mix (looks like a barred and maybe Sussex mix), and would make a great protector for your laying flock. When a red tail hawk came into the yard a couple weeks back he went into absolute take-no-sh*t mode and charged it. The hawk flew off without a fight (or a hen).

We don't have a meat flock; our birds are pretty much pets that poop breakfast. So I really don't want to cull this beautiful boy for what would only be one or two meals anyway. But I also don't want fights that could leave multiple birds dead or injured.

We're southern Pennsylvania, near Gettysburg/ Shippensburg. I can be reached here or by email at [email protected]
