We have had him a few months, bantom araucana cross type rooster. Just about a year old. A handful of his girls were in coop while others roaming around in the yard. We were cleaning coop out, door was off to make this easier. After we were done there was lots of comotion in the hen house (I think because they was a line for laying...some will only nest in certain boxes) We look in and our rooster was in a nesting box, fluffing the fresh sawdust and hay. He appeared to be nesting!! This is a new site for me! He just looked at us like "Ya so, I'm in a box". After a short bit he got out. Is this normal roo behavior? My last roo wouldnt have even fit in a box. To his defense there was lots of comotion with cleaning the coop, and other yard work... Maybe he was just thanking us for a nice clean coop. Normal??
EDIT: did a search and see that this is normal behavior....odd but normal.
