She doesn’t look like she’s molting. Where is she in the pecking order? Sometimes a change to the flock can upset the pecking order and cause enough stress to halt laying for a while. A month is a long time though—usually I would expect that from a chicken that had been attacked by a predator or was very ill. I can’t see anything wrong with her eyes and her comb is very red (which could be from heat) but is usually an indication that she is still laying. Usually during molt it will get pale. Is it possible she is eating her own eggs?

No to the last question. She hasn’t even been in the boxes.
She’s pretty high up. One of my OGs. Not bullied or pecked at. Thanks for that info.

I suspect it is the rooster’s absence since it coincides with her strike. It’s either that she was traumatized by his clumsy mating attempts or just is somehow disturbed by his absence. I would expect her to start up again soon. But in the meantime I would make absolutely certain there is no place she could be stashing eggs

On it. Posted a pic of the coop to show how there’s really no place to hide anything. But I’ll check either way more carefully.
They weren’t kept together at all. But it’s def possible she feels his absence or is affected by his first and last mating attempt.

Chickens sometimes goes dormant for a while especially if it's very hot. If she doesn't look sick, then just wait for temperatures to go down a bit.

Can they get under that shed? I had a chicken who would fly over the fence every day and get into the garden. I had no clue this was going on until one day she didn’t come back. She came back two days later to eat then was gone again. Eventually I found a huge clutch under a plant in the garden. Obviously yours can’t take field trips every day but I just wonder if there’s a place she could squeeze into and start a clutch. If you don’t think so I believe you.

Nope. Even the mourning doves that hang out on the side try to dig under, haven’t managed to get in yet. Nowhere to go. Also my property is quite small I live in a city. She flies the coop, she’s gone with the wind.
