Hey everyone,

My rooster has a small yellow spot on his crest, was wondering what it could be? I read fowl pox but it’s just flat, not sure if that makes a difference

Notes:
It’s been cold around 20-45 for a couple months, and he’s been eating and drinking fine

You didn't bring up the black on the fringes of his comb. That looks like frostbite. If that's what it is, he shouldn't be getting frostbitten at those temps unless your humidity in the coop is really high.

You may want to get a hygrometer and check the humidity in there. If it's higher than 70% inside, and lower than that outside, I'd try put in some more ventilation. If it's higher than that outside, then you'll need to make other changes like no open water in the coop or use nipple buckets.

What sort of feeders do you use? I use to use the port style until my cockerels started injuring their combs on them.

Edited typo

I do not know the name but the feeder is a bit smaller but you fill it up and the food slowly drops

Could be just a scab from a light scrape.

It could be different stages of healing from fighting or peck wounds. They may go from black to tan to beige or white as they heal.
I think the both of you are right, as he has gotten into a couple scrapes but nothing dangerous before, just light ruffles
