Rooster hates old hen

New here (officially).
I had 7 hens and in 1 weekend I lost 5.
Now I have 1 old hen. Recently received 11 chicks 1 of which is Roo. Took a while for the mean ole hen to stop picking on the younglings. I knew the day would come when Rooster went for his place in pecking order. Old hen was beat up pretty bad even looked like he pulled a bit of her comb off. Today I let her out and putting her back in the run she ran and hid (uncharacteristically). Then Rooster went after her tearing feathers out the back of her neck. She ran to her coop and he didn't bother her anymore. He isn't violent to any of the others.
Any ideas or wisdom to stop his aggression to her? She stopped laying 5 months ago and if I was a farmer solution would be simple (soup) but I've been treating her like a pet and daughter likes her.
Thanks

Welcome to Backyard Chickens May quiet down how old is the one hen ? gotta remember she is the oldest you have now
The ole girl is 3-4 years. Dont remember exactly, got those from a neighbor. Her time is short as it is, hoped it would be peaceful. I first thought he tried to mate with her but after seeing him attack her certainly not the case.
Thanks

I would be inclined to put her in a separate pen with a couple of the pullets until he matures a bit and hopefully settles down. It is not out of the realm of possibility that he might kill her.

Certainly difficult this time of year. Never had a rooster before. Hes only bitten me before for picking him up but we are past that lol and I can hold him magically around the time he started standing on the young hens.
I do appreciate the suggestion, thanks.

Id seperate HIM until he's not so goofy.
He is the problem not her.
I had this problem but with a younger hen that was sassy to the cockrel to say the very least.
The day came where she decided to be a proper lady but he decided to be a jerk much like yours.
I put him in the run, alone.
He could see, hear so he could still do most of his manly buisness just no butt kicking or romance.
It took 3 days for his attitude to sweeten, now she's his favorite girl.:)

She might be his favorite, but my hen is a senior citizen and this is the first rooster she ever met. I don't want to keep her locked in her coop but (pending weather and funds for adding to run) might be only non soup option.
Thanks

No doubt keep her safe.
My girl never saw a rooster either poor thing.
Unless you want chicks your old girl would probably be a better rooster than you actual one at the moment.
Don't soup anybody just yet, but try giving the roo a few days in the coop and see if he straightens up.
