Rooster hurt by Jack Russell

Internal injuries are hard to see. I had a hen torn up pretty bad by a neighbor's dog, in shock, barely could stand, and feather loss with shallow wounds. She was lying lifeless in the grass at first, and after a couple of days was again walking and hanging out with the flock. The main thing is to make sure that he is eating and drinking, and I would either add some poultry vitamins to his water, or give him 3 ml of Poultry Nutri-drench orally every day in his feed or by mouth. Good things to eat would be chopped egg, chicken feed with water added to make it like oatmeal, and even chopped tuna or liver. He will either get better or not, and it might take a couple of weeks to tell. If he seems lonely or is not eating, you might try putting him in a dog cage inside the coop or run with his flock. They don't like being alone. Wishing you good luck with him.
Now this is obviously an expert, well done eggsessive!

This was how my rooster was doing as well. Asleep on his feet, pitching forwards. I had to hold his neck and head up while he drank from a cup.I started making him chick starter smoothies giving them the same way. I did however leave him in with the girls. On the fourth day he tried to rejoin the flock but still dozed off. By the fifth day he was more alert, still couldn't straighten up but was tryin to do his rooster duties. At this point I figured he was going to be okay and he was.

Something like that happened to my rooster, Napoleon (the one in my avvy)
One night I was up late. Napoleon was in the basement, due to some frostbite, dozing away in his huge box. I went down to check on him before I went to bed as I always had done. His head appeared tucked under his chest. I thought, "he's preening his chest feathers. But isn't this a weird time to preen?" I touched his back and he stood, neck still tucked, and flipped off the roosting bar head first! Now i was in quite the panic. I called my vet, texted her a picture. I had put him on the concrete floor of my basement and he was basicly dragging his head on the floor while standing. She said, "I don't think he'll make it until morning. But I can come over and give him some pain meds." She came over at around eleven o clock. It turned out, the frostbite had made his wattles extra heavy. It was neck pain. I was so thankful!

Good Lord that's terrifying! Mine was like the Op's bird just defeathered and bruised one little puncture wound. Still don't know what happened he was running on adrenaline when I found him so I had no idea it was so bad on him. I chalked him up for dead im not going to lie.

Well I'm glad he survived! Yes, it was the most terrifying day of my life. Napoleon is quite aggressive, but I have a deep bond with him! (But he likes giving me the 'evil eye'.)

Sorry, I've just seen this.
Dog attacks are so difficult as so many internal injuries can a cure.
Sounds like he's still in shock and exhausted.
I'm no expert but I'd Keep the food light maybe mash instead of pellet, I'd feed boiled eggs for extra protein and put some cider vinegar in his water to help his digestive tract.
Other than that he will come out of it in his own time, maybe take a week or so or unfortunately maybe not at all.

It's a good sign he's still alive, If after a few days he shows interest in things outside of his cage let him out and watch his movement, but that would be a good sign but still allow him Time to build up his strength.

Wish you well and good luck.
