What is the best way to stop my roo from nesting in the hens laying boxes at nite??

I would not want my chickens to roost in the nesting boxes because they poop at night too and they would poop in the boxes and then in the morning when the hens are ready to lay there would be poop in there and it would get all over her and the eggs.

but yes the best and pretty much the only way is to block off the nest with something it can be as simple as a piece of plastic that you can just lay on the nesting boxes and then take off in the morning...or you can get some cheap plywood and a few hooks and make a hatch type thing that you can unhook and swing it down in the morning.
