I have a Barred Rock hen who is 18 weeks old. My rooster is young and agressive with my hens... and this hen has a hard raised spot on the back of her neck. I know it is from the rooster. Some feathers sticking up and a hard spot that is slightly smaller than a marble. It does not appear to be cut or open. I took Blue Kote out and was going to spray the spot but didn't really know what to spray. I just want to make sure the rooster doesn't hurt her. Should I try to separate them? I don't really have anywhere to put chickens other than my coop. The girls just don't appreciate his attentions yet...

Quite often hens will lose feathers at the base of their skull from the rooster holding them while breeding. Since he is actually biting down with his beak it would not be surprising from them to develope a knot it the tissue at that location.
