Rooster is attacking hen. Hen is fluffed up.

The hen runs around and is fluffed up when he comes around. He will attack her by pecking (not spurring) when she gets too close.

I put him in jail for 4 days, then let him out thinking he would stop.

She doesnt seem to be broody, as she has not stopped, and is not trying to sit eggs. I have never seen this before. Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

It sounds as if she is pre broody and he is reacting to her change in demeanor.

As long as he is not physically harming her, I would leave her with the flock.
