Rooster is driving me completely insane!

yes he may be crowing for you. I keep mine in the garage. let me tell you what it sounds like to have 5 roos crowing all at once in your home! but I love it doesnt bother me one bit, but I digress..

Mine always crow when they here me coming as if to say hello, I am here, feed me, look at me arent I handsome?

I would try this.

Keep them in a dark coop until 9-10 am then let them out hopefully he will start thinking that dawn is later and crow later in the day. When his crowing is driving you nuts throw some scratch in there to keep him busy.

Good luck

Ok so I am weird. Our rooster crowed for the first time yesterday, sounded more like a bag of cats being teased but it was still a crow. Myself and DW spent the rest of yesterday sitting on the patio in the heat waiting for a repeat performance no such luck. We had our coffee premade last night and on the timer so we could get up and wait for his next crow. 9 am and not so much as a peep. Looks like another long, hot day on the patio. I know in six weeks I will hate myself and wish he would shut up but the first crow is almost as exciting as the first egg for us!

There are many fish in the sea, many pebbles on the beach, and many many more roosters where this one came from. There really are barely enough positions as pets, flock husbands, or breeders for only 10% of all roosters hatched. There's no need to keep any rooster but the very best.

Roosters' crows come in all ranges & frequencies. And it seems that Murphy's Law of Crowing dictates that the ones with the most annoying sound crow the most often.

If you lived closer to me I'd gladly trade you a good singer from the Dinner Theater pen for your blabberbeak.

To bad you don't live close by. I would trade you! I have one that doesn't make a sound ever. I love to hear them crow!
