Hello! It's been two days already since my rooster hasn't been eating as much. I noticed it yesterday because he wasn't eager to eat. At first, I thought it was because it was cold but even when I tried feeding him inside he didn't really want to. He barely drank water either. The same thing happened today. I don't know what to do anymore. I fed him a scrambled egg. I also noticed that he pecks at the small things or sometimes just the ground. I'm honestly worried. He's almost 5 years old. Any advice or suggestions? :/

Oh no. Is it Timothy? Were they any changes in his behavior prior to him not eating much? Did he get into something or eat something to maybe caused an upset stomach or constipation?

When my rooster experiences constipation he slows down eating and drinking till that issue is resolved.

Can you explain alittle more in detail what you are seeing. Is his comb showing any discoloration?

Sorry to hear about your rooster! How does the crop feel? Is it full or empty? What color are his droppings? Could he have gotten into any spoiled food or poisons?

Yes it's Timothy. I noticed a few days ago that he slowed down his eating. He would take longer to eat. No he didn't get into anything. I'm not sure if he ate something he wasnt supposed to. Maybe he is constipated? His comb isn't showing any signs of discoloration. It's just a bit purple right now because it's been cold lately. I try not to leave him outside as much because of that. He does have a bit of frostbite on one of the ends of his comb but it's nothing major.

I don't think he would be constipated. Unless, he ate something big and now it's taking awhile to pass.

What is his normal diet? Does he have clean water available at all times?

Hi thanks! His crop does feel kinda full. I was gonna mention that as well since I found it kind of odd, since he's not eating as much anymore. The first dropping I saw today was clear with a bit of white. I'm assuming that was because he didn't really eat as much? After I gave him scrambled eggs his droppings are a dark & light green color. These were both separate times. No I don't think he had any spoiled foods.

Okay, the white and light green mean he hasn't been eating. If his crop is full he is likely to have: sour crop, impacted crop or yeast. How does the inside of his mouth smell?

Yea I'm not really sure tbh. Maybe he did when we weren't looking. We sometimes give him fruit but not as much. We give him mealworms as a treat and give him corn. We sometimes give him cooked rice or eggs. Yes he has clean water available at all times. I make sure to clean his bowl.
