Rooster.....layer feed?

Thought I’d update...
We did buy some all-flock feed.
But I was hesitant to just change my girls’ feed altogether, so we had both available to see what they would do.
We also decided to make pvc feeders.
So we made six, and we keep three of them with layer deed, and three of them with all-flock.
The ladies almost always go to the layer feed, but Boss goes to the all-flock.
I’ve watched as closely as I can, and this seems to be the case most of the time.
I guess they just know what they need?
Lol... chickens anyway!

I’d love to see you continue this experiment by dedicating one tube to oyster shell. I wonder if they would start eating the flock builder because they have enough calcium from the shells. Interesting experiment.
 
Wondering if anyone else puts feeders on a wood pallet or something to make sure they don't eat moldy/old food. Half of our flock was rescued from that situation. Took quite awhile to get them healthy.
