Rooster laying eggs?!!

So we have an Australorp and and it is a what looks like a full fledge rooster comb, tail, crows, I've raised chickens since I was 12 this is a rooster in all senses a rooster 101. but this morning he was on the nest and out of him pops an egg. My daughter saw it come out of him with her own eyes. How can this be? Any help?
