Rooster laying in Nesting box ?

I have a rooster who layed inside a nesting box two days in a row not for very long but when he does he makes a strange sound like he is purring I have one hen who is about 17 weeks almost 18 the same age as the roo and the others are 15 and 16 weeks But is this behavior normal or should I be concerned it’s definitely making the hens interested in him Any ideas !?

Absolutely normal behavior. He is selecting nest sites for the pullets and telling them 'this will be a good spot to lay your eggs.'

Thank goodness I was worried something may be wrong with him that makes me feel so much better !
