i have a longhorn male chicken ,i have dusted them twice i have not seen any mites but it looks like he pulles his feathers out, or other are picking on them,,,,hope to ut a pic up later,,,help

What are you dusting him with? I would try and isolate him from the rest of the flock. The other chickens will continue to peck him, weakening him further and possibly killing him.

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad you joined. What are you feeding your chickens? I was told by an old farmer long ago, when chickens start eating feathers they are lacking something in their diet. I would put some vitamins and electrolytes in their water. :thumbsup

I would sugest giving him a break away from others some special treats to eat and then check him over . maybe pump him up with a bit of protien chopped boiled eggs and shells meal worms electrolytes etc. see if hes deficient in something ..

thanks to all,, i will try to put him up some were else,,,i got some dusting powder from the feed store that is for all all animals,,,i feel so sorry for him, his sister looks so nice,,,i have noticed that he is always dirty, he must play in the dirt to dust him self,,,

If he's eating his feathers, it's a lack of protein in his diet. Gamebird feed will stop this and encourage feather regrowth. It's great for birds in molt as well.
