rooster loosing/or not gaining weight

i've had this new rooster for about a month now and since i've had him he has always been on the scrawny side. i put him out a few days ago with my flock of girls for some fun before having to come back inside for the night (residential and being kind to neighbors by bring the boys into the garage coop/breeding pen). yesterday morning i noticed him hiding in one of the corners of the garage coop looking a little depressed but soon after calling his name he snapped out of it and started his normal behavior. the same thing happened again this morning and when i came home this afternoon he was doing the same thing.

he is currently in with another rooster who likes his presence even with the few girls in with both boys. they do not fight and the new boy is very good to the girls and has not been mounting them when i've been out to check on them, if a girl gives even the slightest protest he backs away. i just put Mosey outside again with my outdoor girls and he seems to be enjoying the 'exercise' of chasing the girls around and looks overall normal in his behavior for having all those girls to himself! but when i was carrying him out to the coop i noticed that he seems quite thin, thinner than when i first got him! i can feel his keel bone and there doesn't seem to be much flesh under the skin. all birds have plenty of food and treats and he has been eating them too and calling the girls when he sees it.

i have not noticed his poop today but a few days ago when i saw him leave some it was bright green but it looked like a usual poop (solid w/the white and not runny at all) other than that color. i'm wondering if it could be considered worms or maybe stressed from being around a more dominant roo.

overall, he seems to be normal other than the weight issue i've noticed. could anyone help me out with this?

You can always try worming. I have found that pumpkin seeds are a great natural wormer. You might also try separating him from the other roo, as that could very well be stressing him and just causing him to eat less.

I wouldn't worry about the droppings, mine have been doing that lately and I believe it is caused by the large amount of caterpillars we are having (and the chickens are eating!). Are you seeing more caterpillars than usual around your house?

just starting to see the gypsy moth caterpillars but he hasn't been outside enough to get those yet. and there haven't been many when i see them crawling around.

i brought him inside the house for the night so i could observe him and give him his own food. he gobbled a lot of it down. he has been coughing some lately too so i'm thinking he could have something like a cold/sinus related stuff from being shipped over a month ago. so i'm giving him some antibiotics in his water for now. i have wormer and i'll give him a dose of that too just to be sure it isn't something like that. i've never wormed my chickens and i've been hesitant about giving it to my hens while they are producing eggs for us to eat. i wish we had some pumpkins around here this time of year or i would get one for him to eat.

I just got 2 little chicks today that seem to have impacted croops have you felt his to see if there is an obstruction that is causing him to starve?

If the croop is large it could be a couple things but either way its a good place to start.
A large problem croop on a full sized chicken would be between a golf ball and a tennis ball size.
My 2 week old chick is about 1/2 a golf ball and the little 1 week old has a small lump too.

i checked him for than and it feels fine. it doesn't look/feel enlarged either.

would dry pumpkin seeds work? Might have to break them up a bit.
