Rooster mating with small hen

I have got a rooster that now mates with this smaller hen a couple times a day i have still not recieved an egg but knowing it is still a pullet i know why.but the rooster is bigger and could hurt the hen.weirdly when the hen gets mated it doesnt run away and still stays in that position for like 30 secs after aswell.

My hen does that a lot. Maybe separate her for a while, with a friend or two or just keep an eye on that roo?

Sounds funny, but it's true. My buff orp roo only liked one out of my three girls. He wasn't bothered about the other two.

Maybe the bigger hens don't want him and freak out and since the smaller one complies he goes with what's easier.

It’s not unusual for a rooster to favor the smallest hen or the lowest on the pecking order. I would recommend separating them for awhile.....

The others will warm up to him in time. Your pullet will be laying soon, squatting for him is a sign she's almost ready. My pullets began laying soon after they began squatting for the cockerel.
