Around the first of March I plan on buying about 15 roos. All different breeds. I plan on keeping just 1 or 2. the rest I will butcher. The one(s) I keep will be what I consider the most handsome roo.

My question is: Will the roos color be mature at 14-16 weeks? This is the age at which I will butcher them.

Coloring is mostly the same at 16 weeks. They might be still getting in more feathers for about another month but the colors don't change much after 16 weeks.

I have RIR's. The only thing I noticed with mine was they had the coloring at 2/3 months but as the feathers grew and a little more black came out in the tail feathers.
