We have an Easter Egger rooster who is about 15 weeks old (along with the other 18 chickens). He may be the only rooster, we are not sure if one of my Brahmas is (will have to post a picture soon). Anyway, he doesnt bother people. He doesnt seem to care for us, he just stands back, but he hurts our hens. He will peck, peck them and not let go, and jump on their backs (not sure if its a sign of mating but he doesn't seem to be trying to do that. He just jumps on them and kind of scratches them up).
He was bad earlier, around 9 weeks, and then stopped. Now he is back to his mean ways and its worse than before. He didnt hurt them as much but recently, he is taking it to a whole new level. We would like to have him for protection but we cant have him hurting the hens. Whenever he gets near them, they run off or jump away from him. Should we just get rid of him or try to fix it? My dad has considered making a smaller coop to put him in for a while. He hurts the nicest hens that just lay down and do nothing.
What do we do!? Should we try separating him? It might take a while for my dad to get on that. Is there any other ways to fix this?
Or should we just give him away?

I personally would rehome him.

He is young and they are pretty wild when young. You could try separating him until he's older if you can. Only other option is to rehome him. If you had some older hens they'd put him in his place.

Im just nervous about rehoming him. I dont want to give him back to the people because... he is a rooster. Roosters aren't very wanted. And I don't know if I want him to go to someone else and then cause them trouble! That will look bad on us.

Can a rooster live alone? With no hens for a while?
This is what he looks like.

yes, they certainly can live alone. Many people do separate them till they're around a year old and then put them with the hens. Usually they are much better behaved by then.
