I have Modern Game Bantams. One of my Roos is so attentive when his favorite hen lay an egg. She does the egg song before laying. He rushes right over like an expectant young father. He clicks and chatters what seems like encouraging words. He climbs in the nest box and gets it all ready for her. He stays right by her side while she struggles to lay an egg. Then nuzzles her when she is finished. It is so sweet! … I‘m really not supposed to have any Roos, but I am struggling with taking him away from her.

Those kind of boys are the best boys! I would be reluctant to get rid of him, too. :(

What happened to him?

What happened to him?
So far, I still have him! I keep going out to the coop in the dark morning hours and put him in a show box. Then let him out when he’s done crowing. It makes it a lot quieter. And he only crows for about an hour in the morning.
