Also, don't mean to be THAT person, but roosters can suffocate being on their backs. Something about their lungs being in a different position than the girls makes them easy to collapse if they're there too long. If he starts wheezing you may have done damage ):

That is interesting to know. None of my roosters would likely let me hold them like a baby very long - they would wriggle away pretty fast. But it is good to know if I ever have a rooster who likes to lounge.
