I’m located in the Newark/Hanover area.
The chicken in question is half Plymouth, half RIR.
Silber (silver in German) is a very good boy. He’s not good with kids, which is why he’s being re homed. He’s chased after my brother a couple times, and regularly gets into fights with my dog. to be fair, the dog is still a bit of a puppy, and usually starts things by trying to play. She’s also a German Shepard, so he probably thinks she’s a wolf.
Anyway, the reason I haven’t just eaten him yet is because he’s very good with his hens. He brings them to the food every morning, guards them maybe a little too fiercely, and does that little spinning in a circle with wings out thing, I guess it’s a courtship display? He also knows boundaries within the flock, protecting the immature hens, but not breeding them until they’re ready. I think he’s a good boy, and would be better for a more experienced farmer without kids on the property.

That bird is doing nothing wrong. He's defending his flock which is genetically programmed to do.
Your younger brother is probably doing something to trigger him to chase him. I would definitely work very hard to rehome him into a flock where he can be a flock leader for the rest of his life because he deserves that. Try advertising on your local Facebook Poultry Groups and your local Craigslist. Just ask $5 for him and when you find a good home for him deny the payment. Good luck.
