Rooster not crowing

yesterday I brought home one silkie rooster and two silkie chickens. I put them inside my coop which already had one silkie chicken. This morning my new rooster did not crow. Why is he not crowing?

Have you heard him crow before? I'm pretty new to having rosters... My little guys just "squeaks" one note loudly now and then.

I do think it takes them a bit of time to get adjusted to their new place and feel confident enough to crow... And some rosters are simply more vocal than others.

How old are they? Just give him time he will eventually crow unless of course he is actually a she.

Sexually mature cockerels/roosters crow to announce their ownership of the area/hens. If he's not sure that this is his territory, he probably won't crow for fear of starting a fight with the actual owner of the property -- who might be a lot bigger and meaner than he is. As said above, just give him some time to adjust.
