Rooster not drinking water

I have a year old house rooster who seems healthy and happy enough. I make him homemade feed which is moistened and he gets tiny bits of fruit and veg as treats so he does get some hydration from those, but he never drinks water. He has access to a water bowl 24/7 but I literally never see him drink from it.

I work from home so I spend most of my time with him, but of course it is possible he is drinking while I am not looking or when I do go out. But if he is, he is definitely drinking very very infrequently.

With my other outdoor chickens, I see them drinking all the time. I have another roo, with my outdoor flock, who sleeps indoors overnight to minimise early morning noise, and I see him drinking his water every time I turn the light on in his room in the late evenings. The water bowl is empty in two days if I don't change it every day. The outdoor chickens always go straight to the fresh water when I change out their buckets.

But the indoor rooster's water bowl never seems to get less full.

So what's going on? How can I encourage him to drink more?

I'm not too worried right now because his poop looks normal. There are white bits on the brown poop and it doesn't look too dry and hard or anything. But he actually even refuses to drink if I put fresh water in front of him and encourage him to drink. It's strange.

As long as he's pooping normally, that indicates he's getting enough fluids.

If you feed moistened feed, it's likely that satisfies his requirement for fluids.

Does he have access to grit? Does he ever go outdoors to scratch around? If so, is it regularly?

Yes I provide grit. He goes outside regularly but only likes to stand on top of the coop really. He's scared of the other chickens so if I put him on the ground he won't spend long scratching around.
