I have 9 hens, 1 rooster and 2 ducks(one male, one female). They're all about 4 months old. The rooster is literally humping my poor ducks and none of the hens! Is this normal? Every few minutes he chases after the ducks and humps them-- even the male duck. When they're back in the coop for bed I hear the poor ducks yelping and I walk over to see the rooster at it again. Any tips or advice would sincerely help.

4mo is the worst time for cockerels, they'll 'hump' about anything.
Probably more about emerging dominance than sexuality.
I'm guessing your ducks are just the easiest target.
Agrees, separate ducks and chickens.
Once that drake becomes 'active' he can do serious damage to your female chickens.

The obvious answer is, Separate the ducks from the Chickens, at least until your Roo turns an amorous eye toward the hens. Is this possible?...JJ
I have separated them but I just thought that the ducks and hens would he attracted to their own species. Thats why I got a rooster for the hens and a drake for my duck. I feel awful for assuming that.

Yes they were all raised tpgether as day old chickens and ducklings.
In my experience if the chicks and ducklings are raised only with their own species, then they are fine when put together as adults, because the chickens know that they are chickens, etc

But... if they are raised together from hatch.... they get confused as to what they are, and problems arise.

:hugs but that isn't common knowledge, you didn't know.
