Rooster on one leg ?

Why do roosters stand on one leg when they are alarmed ??

When i was in the run earlier, Mine was making a clucking noise and standing on one leg ...

Any particular reason why ??

Because they look more heroic that way. Honestly, that's the only reason I can think of.

Does that foot have a sore on the bottom of it? Does he walk all right on it?
I don't know what the weather is like there now but if the foot gets cold he might be pulling up close to the body to keep it warm..

Lol .. he looks heroic .. hes tiny (if only he knew lol)

He seems to be moving perfectly and pretty quick too,
I haven't checked for any sores or anything similar . Mainly because he kept switching legs .. Just thought it was a normal thing for them to do, I will do now you have mentioned it though just to put my mind at rest .. If he lets me get close enough to pick him up that is ...

the weather here in england isnt great ..but today was a mild day with quite a warm sunshine ..and the coop was dry so i dont think the cold ground is the issue ...


Maybe he is just trying to look "hard" afterall then lol ...

And is it normal to cluck like a hen ? .. He hasn't crowed yet ( you know the sound a human would make to call someone a chicken lol..best i can describe it )
