Rooster or hen / breed

I got 2 chickens to add to my flock back in June for my birthday, I can’t tell completely if they are hens or not, they come from a mixed flock, what gender and if you can guess what breed they are?

Looks like you have a pair, a male and female. As for breed, they look like mutts to me...

The all black one is female, and the other is male. I think they are Wyandotte crosses.
