rooster or hen?

So, for future reference.. How can you tell?

And how many hens will I need to get in order for my two roosters to live in the same area? I'm attached to them both and would love to keep them... Any ideas?

Bright red combs by 10 weeks always indicates male. Pullets don't start to turn red in the combs until they are close to laying age, usually around 14 to 18 weeks old.
