I am new at raising chickens. Got this from a private breeder one day after it hatched, 16 weeks ago. The other birds that were hatched the same day have started crowing if they are Roosters and have started jumping on the hens. This one is not crowing, and not jumping on anyone and is trying to stay away from the other Roosters. How can I tell if this bird is a Rooster or a hen? Can Hen's be that colorful?
Also does anyone know what breed this is?

Thanks in advance for your help. (And now I know why many folks stay away from these breeding mills.)

not sure on the breed but its definatly a Roo, it is probably lower in the pecking order so not acting out as much as some of the others :)

I had a mutt roo that looked just like him. He was absolutely lovely. He was also the last to crow, and took him several weeks beyond his brood brothers of the same age to even attempt mating. Maybe you'll be lucky and he will be a very nice boy.

It's probably an Easter Egger rooster.
