Rooster or Hen?

a friend of mine gave me a fertile egg for one of our hens to hatch since she was sitting. We do not have any roosters. This chick was hatched September 19 2013. 6 months ago almost. This chick looks like a rooster but it's comb isn't bright red nor does it crow. My husband seems to think its a rooster but I think it's a hen. The father of this chick is a white leggern. Not sure about the mom. Any thoughts on what it is?

Looks like a rooster to me.

But if it is six months old then it should have longer tail feathers (if it were a roo).
