this barred rock is about 11 weeks old....he/she is the only one with his/her comb and wattles growing like this, his/her feet are also quite larger than the others. she/he chases around the other hens sometimes but is very quiet and sits around on the roosts almost all day long. Also, if this is a rooster, which i have a feeling it is- is very calm and loves to be pet! He/she is also much whiter than the other barred rocks and when he/she was a chick, was the only one with a small white dot on her head.

I have a feeling Betty will now be Burt. Haha :D

The buff orpingtons in this picture are almost 2 weeks older than the barred rocks.

That's a cockerel. Just a warning: most cockerels are really nice and sweet when they are young. However, once they reach 5-9 months, they get mean. Of course, that won't necessarily happen to your rooster

Oh boy that's what i was afraid of! We'll have to see how much he crows and what his demeanor is if we want to keep him. Otherwise we'll have to give him to our friends! Bummer!..... he's my favorite! Thanks BantamFan4Life!
