I have 16 hens and 1 rooster. Awhile back I posted about my Americaunas being hurt and it came to light he was over treading. I purchased saddles and that's helping....well, I have this poor little buff that absolutely will not submit to him and he's really whomping on her. Her comb is completely gone and a lot of her feathers on her back. He's just being nasty at this point. He gets her down over and over and my husband actually thought she was dead because she just laid there. I'm ready to make him soup, but I tend to overreact w this type of thing so I'm asking here first. Btw, I didn't want a rooster, he was in w the chicks we ordered.

I wouldn't keep a rooster that does that to his hens, they should woo the hens, not dominate. I have had good and bad roosters, yours is a bad one. He's only concerned about his own shagging urges.

That's what I was waiting to hear. I know my hens will be happier without him.
