I have 1 jersey giant and 1 buff orphington rooster , both about 6-7 months old. Both have been very aggressive towards my children, chasing and attacking them. Will this behavior fade or do I need to put them on the table?

I'm sorry to hear that.

Most people would suggest just getting rid of an aggressive rooster, especially if you have children. However, if you really want to keep your roos, this may help: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/390911/important-how-to-deal-with-an-aggressive-rooster

Best of luck!

Some are mean some are nice, I have tried to make a nice one out of a mean one and it didn't work, pen them up, maybe they will grow out of it, or eat them, why endanger your children, and why keep a rooster too stupid to know people aren't chickens, my 13 roosters all seem to know I'm not a chicken, and don't attack me or any visiting children, I have always said I would not be terrorized by my poultry, I still have nightmares about being chased by roosters as a kid.

Your cockrels need to be someone's dinner ASAP, before someone gets hurt. Old hen is totally right. There are many lovely NOT human aggressive roosters out there, and they are the only ones worth keeping. Either look for a replacement now, or better yet raise some chicks and keep a couple of possible replacement cockrels, realizing that with maturity might come bad behavior, and be ready to fix it. I am currently raising about fifteen cockrels, and pay attention daily to their behavior. Come spring, I will reevaluate the few that are kept over winter, and pick two or three max that might stay. Behavior trumps everything, in my flock. Mary

You do not need to eat them. It sounds like they are going out of their way to attack people, which means that they feel that the children are a danger to their flock. How often are your children around them, and have they been from the start?
