Rooster problems

I have a problem that started with buying from TSC. I was told all of the chicks in certain tubs were pullets. So I bought 8. 2 each of 4 breeds. Pretty sure at 5 months old now that I have 4 roosters. One of each breed. Dominant one is a Black Copper Maran. He's the only one that crows. And now he's attacking me! Anyone in North Texas want a beautiful but aggressive rooster?!

Sorry about the 50:50 split on chickens. We had 3 BCM males from a straight run order, and they matured fast and the most dominant one was aggressive -luckily not to us. We sold them at a livestock auction, which occurs monthly. Most likely you have something similar in your area. Good luck.

If you get rid of the dominant rooster, another one will take his place. It's the pecking order. Rooster's (Sometimes) need to be taught some certain ways to learn YOUR boss. Normally being all friendly, holding them, playing around with them as chicks causes them to take over dominance. I handle means roosters by: A) Rehoming/eating (I've never had to do) Or B) I handle them differently. I stay above them, I feed them treats to get use to me, I hang around the coop. I do hld my roosters, but I shoo them away when I put them down, not sure if it's effective. Could just be the rooster, really depends but you should seriously rehome all the rooster's unless you are going to use them for breeding/eating/or to protect the hens. Good luck getting rid of some. (Plus you'd need much more hens for the amount of Cockerels you have) I'm sure, if you wanted, you can post picks and let people determine the genders.

Even the hatcheries only guarantee 90% accuracy with sexing chicks.
But yeah, farm store employees can get things mixed up.
Keeping males can be tricky, often has more to do with the keeper than the bird.
I eat them, but you can try to give them away with full disclosure.
Put ads up at farm store, FB, craigslist, what ever sale venue/platform available to you locally.

I tried everything with my aggressive rooster...holding him upside down, swatting him with different objects in my hand and other suggested avenues. Didn't work and it got to the point of me feeling like I was an animal abuser. I have a young man that I hired and called him my "hitman". He took care of him as well as ridding the property of 9 raccoons. I couldn't eat Roo. Oh, I didn't eat the raccoons either. In E. TN you cannot re-home raccoons.
