My co worker gave me four what i thought at them were chickens. They were 4 weeks old so i really couldn't tell the difference but as it started getting older one of the chicks started looking more like a rooster. Three months later i found out i indeed have a rooster. I just don't know what kind of breed it is but I'm very curious and was seeing if anyone can help.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I would guess he has one kind of game breed in him. He's very beautiful. You can drop by the what breed gender section of the forum for better help,on his identification. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this
I'm sure lots of members over there will be able to help you.

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future.

To determine your rooster's breed try posting on the thread Yorkshire coop suggested. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here that will be able to help you. Your rooster does seem to have Birchen coloring so that should narrow breed possibilities down a bit.

Welcome to BYC. Roosters and hens are both chickens. Roosters are the males, and hens are the females. Just like people are ALL humans but then it breaks down to men and women.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on drumstick diva; a rooster is a male chicken and a hen is a female chicken. A cockerel is a male chicken less than a year old and a pullet is a female chicken less than a year old. Definitely post your rooster on our What Breed or Gender is This? section under the Forum and let our experts there take a look at him for you. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your rooster.
