@Shadrach, you seem to know a lot about rooster and I have a question. I have a Black Silkie cock and whenever I let one of the hens jump or fly of my arm he makes this weird braach type sound. He even dose it if I let my chicks jump down and especially when I put hens that have jumped the fence back over. It seems to be whenever another hen flies any distance. Do you know what he's trying to say or what it means?

My Roos do that too. I assume the flapping signals alarm, like they’d be flapping if they were evading a predator, and so the roo makes an alarm sound. But that’s just my guess.

It could be a number of things. A video of the hen being picked up and put down and the roosters reaction to it might help.

Of coarse he won't do it now but it dose sound very similar to fluffycrow's video. I didn't think it was a warning because he would do it for everything.
I will try to get a video later
