Hi, wow I haven't been on in a long while. I've decided that I'd like to find a new home for my Seabright Silver rooster. He's just a bit on the aggressive side - he no longer flogs me but goes after my room mate.

i'm concerned about giving him away. I think that I'm afraid someone might take him & use him for cock fighting.

Is there any way for me to know that he's going to a good home? besides driving out to his new 'home'?

any input is appreciated.

The sad part about roos- once you give them up you loose control - My first ten birds were Sebrights and they are the Pitbulls of the bantams - I hope you find him a good home

Howdy stranger!
Welcome back!
As for the roo, once he's out of your hands, you have no control over what happens to him.
Case in point:
I drove 3 hours to rehome my cockerel Jerry. He was going to a petting zoo for his forever home. I'd written letters, and called for updates, and sent cards on his birthday, and sent gifts of Portuguese Sweetbread because that was his special treat. I went up last summer and he wasn't there...he'd been gone basically since I had brought him up there. So as of now, he could be noodles, a much loved pet, a show bird or just plain dead. I feel like an ass, an ass with a broken heart.
