Rooster Rehoming

A friend of mine is wanting two of my BA cockerels to free range during the day and he'll have a coop for them at night. He has some bantams that he does not free range, but won't have any other hens. I have two questions:

1) If they can see the bantam hens but not get to them will they fight?

2) When is a good age to rehome them? I want them to be able to protect themselves since he's letting them free range. They're only 6ish weeks right now.

I think if you are planning to re home chicks the sooner you do it the better.

Ok! Thank you. They're in their own pen right now, I have one more that I think is a wait and see, but I'm pretty sure is a cockerel. I was trying to keep them together until we knew for sure.
