Rooster runs

We have temporarily converted 2 compost sections into rooster enclosures. They are 6x4 each side with a roost and a roof. If I were making a permanent set-up, I’d give a more enclosed roost area and possibly a1-2’ extension more open to the sun, if I could predator proof it well enough. this space is quite roomy for a single rooster.

A 4 x 6 covered coop section, with an attached 4 x 8 run section per rooster, is the smallest I would do. Many will disagree, but I find all my chickens do better with more space, rather than less, even the bachelors.

Okay, thanks. I'm not necessarily sure my roosters would need that much indoor space (Just my opinion, not saying you're wrong) Especially since I'll have some bantams, not just standards.

I'm trying to figure out a far space since I was originally just going to do cages at night and rooster ties during the day, but that would involve overhead fencing and figuring out something with my free-ranging roosters, so I figured runs would be better for me and the bird. I have some happy trios right now in 8x3 runs with a 1.5x3 house attached and so I was trying to use those as a scale for my rooster runs
