Hi I have a rooster that might have sour crop I’m treating him now with apple cider vinegar and got an appointment for him I’m just concerned cause I recently found one of my chickens dead I think it’s was a stroke she wasn’t acting right in the morning found her in the nesting box at night took her out she couldn’t really stand for long and when I tried to make her walk she would fall over I just really like to hear some opinions about all this and some sour crop tips thank you

Do you have photos of your rooster and his poop?

How old is he?
What do you feed, including treats?
Do you provide grit (crushed granite)?

You think he may have Sour Crop, what are his symptoms? What does the crop feel like, is it emptying, is there a sour or bad odor coming from the beak, are there any lesions, canker or mucous inside the beak?

Is he able to eat/drink on his own?
Any other symptoms?

Apple Cider Vinegar will not treat Sour Crop. If the crop is Sour, then you want to treat with an anti-fungal/yeast medications. Miconazole, Clotrimazole or Nystatin are commonly used. Often there is an underlying condition that causes a crop to turn sour, since this is a rooster, has he been dewormed?

I would work on getting him hydrated and access him really well.
Re-check the crop and look him over for lice/mites.

Get photos of him and his poop.

I have no answers for the chicken you lost, I'm sorry that happened.
Hopefully you can work on this rooster and get him healthy.
