Rooster sitting on my hens nest?

Hey ya'll I have another question... How long do Chickens live (as pets mostly) and is it the same for roosters?

I have read of birds living into their very early teens, and roosters also.

But for hatchery birds......4 to 6 years is considered old.

My Roosters do that , but only with the new pullets ??
