rooster started mounting hens today...

This is our first venture with chickens so we have a bit to learn. We have one rooster that is about 3 months old, most of our hens are right around the same age as we got them all together. we bought two Bantams at the same time that were older (about a month). today the rooster started mounting the two bantams. is that any indication that the hens are capable of producing eggs right now or is it just chance that he is mounting the two older ones. We havent seen him show any interest in the other hens his age. We haven't had any eggs yet, just curious if we need to start keeping an eye out for some.

thanks for the responce. they don't really look like they are willing to participate they seam more aggrivated and start cackling.

They all look like that when they are young. Like it's an inconvenience. When they get older it's like they put up with it.​
