He is the picture of health otherwise..Crows, eats, scratches in the dirt, dust bathes, catches and eats unfortunate bugs that wander into his pen, drinks water, etc..
He has a big blob of a rose comb, and I'm wondering can those things overgrow the nostrils or otherwise cause breathing trouble? (Do combs keep growing, or reach a certain size by a certain age and stop? What age?)
He just sucks in so hard, his neck stands out, but he never tries opening his mouth to breathe through there..He doesn't act like it's bothering him at all..but it's bothering ME..
If it is an allergy or something stuffing up his nose, can he get over it on his own?
Not feeling terribly confident after losing his brother recently, though his brother was weakened from injury...and I'm not yet couraged up enough to get in there with this one and catch him to see if I can even see his nostrils..I cannot see them from a foot away because the comb overhangs them..I fear scaring him..

I'm not sure...
But if it doesn't seem to be bothering him, I would just pay close attention to him. And do get closer to him to inspect. He will get use to you, bring him treats.

Thanks..I did get a little closer to him yesterday and I believe I could see his right nostril..or part of it..His comb was in front of it..I'm gonna go in there with him today and just sit for awhile..Get him accustomed to me being inside with him..I'm thinking that once I do get hold of him, I might try the nasal syringe thingy in case he has food clogged in there somewhere..That's always a possibility since I do feed them wet feed a lot of the time..
Thank you again..
