He's a bit of a jerk....wonder if I'd just be trading trouble for trouble tho....They look like mixes. Is there something wrong with your current rooster?
You won't know until you try. Young roosters can take some time to settle and mature. Many aren't up to snuff until about 2 years in many instances. A few are good from the start. He's a bit of a jerk....wonder if I'd just be trading trouble for trouble tho....![]()
Soooo wonder if my current rooster will get worse? I've heard many many horror stories about bantam roosters... aaaaand if I did decide to do a swap how would i proceed? My current rooster is about 7 months....I have 8 hens + a Male & female guinea...i had someone to take both new roosters but now says he can only take 1 so I'm thinking I'll give him my bantam & see how it goes with the other 2 since they seem to do well togetherHow old is your current rooster? And what bad behaviors are you seeing? I like my bantam roosters. A few can be full of themselves.
If you wanted to you can just remove your current rooster, either temporarily or permanently and add one or both roosters. It probably would be best to pen them where they can be seen for a few weeks and become familiar through a fence. It all depends on your flock and set up.
How many hens do you have?
I can't really tell whos dominant...they're in an xl wire crate in my run right now & they both seem pretty chill soooo I'm thinking I won't be able to tell whos dominant till theyve got more space to wander aboutIf the one with the black in the tail is the dominate one of the 2, I would keep the other one to try.
