Does anyone know when my three little roos should start mating with the ladies or crowing? They were born in may. Metallica did try crowing once a few weeks ago and got ontop of a young guinea hen for a second and Dusty and Zeppelin have seemed sort of interested in mating but hasn't acted on it.

Mine started crowing at 4 months old and are now 5 months and just started mating

The group I have now at 15 weeks old....one has been crowing and trying to mate for 3-4 weeks.

We have a lot of girls (and all but 8 are older )and an already adult rooster, is it possible that they're intimidated to start?

Possibly....tho I also have a dozen older birds and a adult cock.
The cross breed I have been hatching for the last couple years have seemed to be exceptionally precocious...had one tiny cockerel crowing at 1-2 weeks old.
They have also been 'early' mounters.

Hmm. I guess my fellas are late bloomers. Trust me they are fellas, you should see them next to their sisters.
